Solved cant find my host name on my asus 900 laptop it is not there

Specs: Linux i686
my asus 900 laptop requires me to enter host name when i start it up and my wireless connection wont let me go wireless though it goes on to the net when i use a cable thanks for any info that may help i love my little laptop

If I get it right, you are missing your wireless network name, right?

If so, connect your computer via cable to the router, open your favorite internet browser and type in the ip-address of the router.
Log in to the web interface of the router and search the wireless settings of the router for the SSID or Wireless Network Name.

If encryption is enabled, which I assume it is, you should also write down the wireless encryption key / wireless password.
