Can't connect to router settings.

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor, 3400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor/4GB Ram
I just updated my OS to Windows 7. I did a clean install, and I lost the connection password for my router. I still know my username and password to get into the router settings (via which is still my gateway address according to ipconfig) and check what my connection password is, but the problem is, I can't connect to the router at all, so when I enter in the address bar, it simply doesn't go anywhere.

How do I connect to a router without having access to that router?

Not sure how to delete posts here, or if you even can. But I solved my problem in a very non-climatic way. My mother wrote the password down months ago.

Thanks for letting us know how it went. Also, if you have a similar issue, to make changes to the router, use a computer directly connected to the router, and not a wireless connection.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!
