I am used to connect to network devices like enigma2 receivers and mobile phones etc through FTP programs like DCC. Putty or WinSCP but now each time I try to use any of those softwares with any of my devices I get a message saying: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions. How do I trouble shoot that?

" How do I trouble shoot that?" Start by going into Network Connections & clicking Network troubleshooter.
No that didnt work. The troubleshooter told me there is nothing wrong with the network which is true. The problem is in the FTP connection with other devices.
Try the troubleshooter in Control Panel.
