cant access to pc

Specs: Windows XP
hi. i connect 2 pc with Dlink switch i use automaticly and manually ip but cant connect each other.. i use 192.168.1.200,255.255.255.0 for 1st pc and 192.168.1.201,255.255.255.0 for 2nd pc but the result is same. no ping. when u use automatically it got 169.254.180.225 ip address .what is do..??

As far as I know, the ping is blocked by the windows firewall by default.
So first check whether the windows firewall settings are correct.

Ok, so you wrote, if you set ip configuration to automatic via DHCP, you get an ip address of 169.254.x.x. That means either, DHCP in the routers setup is not enabled, or, you are using the wrong cables.
Checked that?

no router = no dhcp server = 169.254.x.x ip
manually assign your ips as before which was correct. Then make sure the firewalls on both are disabled and try your ping again.

No ping could mean bad switch or bad cable(s)

thnks dear .. got the problem.. problem in my cable..now i connect each pc with network and internet via switch. i use bsnl ev-do usb wireless terminal for net. i connet 3 pc with that. using switch and ccproxy. Is that possible if i do not use ccproxy. can i use net on another pcs?
