Canon IR2220 scanner comunication

Specs: Windows XP
Copier is hooked to the network. I can print to the copier, but I can't use the scanner to the server. The copier says no response from the server.

Control panel, windows firewall, exceptions.

Add exception, file & printer sharing.

Did you install the scanner software? Sometimes it's a separate process. Is the device connected by cat5 to the network or is it wireless? If it's wireless, was it given the proper key, if encryption is used?

I found out that there is no software to install. We are using Cat 5 wire. The copier guy said it might be a permission error because he said that he could hook his laptop in and scan to it.

I never heard of a scanner without software but do what he said & check the permissions.
