Cannot set ntp on Cisco 1760v Router

Specs: Cisco
I am trying to sync a 1760v Cisco router to an external time server.

i am trying the command ntp server 1.1.1.1 prefer

but the time wont update

You have to actually give an address that is an NTP server. I just did an nslookup quickly on 1.1.1.1 and it couldn't find that address.

Try an actual NTP server and see if it doesn't work. The folliowing link will take you to a list of public NTP Servers.

I thought that 1.1.1.1 was just an example. The entire syntax is needed along with the correct IP.
