Solved cannot access router configuration pages.

December 11, 2016 at 14:28:59
Specs: Windows 10, yes
ipconfig says wireless LAN adapter default gateway at 192.168.0.1 internet works fine. Full access. When I put 192.168.0.1/ into a browser address window. The connection is never established, and eventually times out. So I cannot access the configuration pages.
Whats up with that?
I have been around and around. No one has the "actual answer" yet. Yes I did reboot the router. Still no configuration page access. Yes I did configure a port for browser access.
All network access works fine just wanted to reset the channel from 11 to 6 to improve the link score.

See More: cannot access router configuration pages.

Is it the same using an alternative browser?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Yes all browsers get the same result.
Router is a Century link C2000t. Router was rebooted 10-11 days ago when I removed the land line telephone from the bundled system. But I could not access the configuration pages previous to that either. using inSSIDer I found several local systems on the same channel "11" that I'm using so... I was able to access "configuration pages" when I was with Cox and had my own router in the system. Can't call Century Link help desk till Monday. I'm going to try to reboot it again tonight. Need to have everything using the system off for a while first.

Is it possible to connect directly to the router via a cat-5/ethernet cable?

If so then you ought to be able access the entire setup area for the router, using the ip address for the router.

If you open a CMD window and enter "ipconfig" does it display the same "gateway" IP address (192.168.0.1)??
