can I use Belkin F5D8636-4 v2 as a repeater?

Micro-star international / Ms-7100

Specs: Win7, 4GB
is it possible for this router to pick up my existing wireless signal and pass it through it's wired connection?

I want to get the internet into my sat box only way to do this is by hard wire.
my router is upstairs so no chance of running a wire all the way down stairs.

I'm hoping to use this router to pick up the wireless signal and pass it through the cable to the sat box.

posible?

I'm not interested in looking up the spec's on a piece of equipment I'll never buy, or likely use. Call me lazy but I figure you can do that yourself.

If it, or the other wireless router you'll be connecting to can do "bridge mode" then you should be able to interconnect the two wirelessly with one in bridge mode.

If it does have bridge mode but it isn't working that's likely a setup/configuration issue. Read the documents carefully and do some google searches for info on connecting that router to another wirelessly using bridge mode. Chances are, someone's already done it and made that info available on the web.

Some routers call it WDS or Wireless Distribution System. If you can't find bridge or repeater mode, look for that.
