can find networks, cannot connect completely.

so, here's my issue.

about two weeks ago, my computer was having an audio issue for a while. I decided to try and update my audio driver. I went to downloads.com and tried to update, but i lost all sound after i installed it. I system restored, and though my sound came back, i lost my internet connection and haven't been able to get it back since. I really don't know what to do now. I've tried system restoring further back in time (up to a month), safe mode with networking, system restoring from safe mode, bringing it in to the tech support department at my university, updating my wireless driver, contacting hp support... and they wanted to charge me $100 for advice. can anyone help me out here? I'm completely lost.

The main issue is not that i can't find networks, but that no matter how i try to connect to the internet (wired, wirelessly), I can't completely connect to the internet. The network symbol just shows the two blue windows, and an exclamation mark next to them. can anyone help????

Look at the device manager. Wherever you see red or yellow marks, is where the drivers have to be reinstalled.

I don't see any other way to solve the problem until that's corrected.

Yes, you need to ensure your network adapter driver is installed correctly and works well. If not, probably you need to reinstall the driver.

If you have done everything correctly but still no help, probably it's due to faulty winsock catalog, you might try to reset Winsock catalog and see how it goes.

Hope this helps.
