Browsers don't load despite good connection

November 20, 2010 at 07:22:35
Specs: Windows 7, 2.8ghz, 5gb RAM
Hi, I am using Windows 7 and until yesterday Chrome was working fine. Then it just stopped working and internet explorer is the same! I know my internet is working cos I can wirelessly connect on my laptop. However I connect with ethernet cable to my PC (that isnt working ) so I don't know if this is an issue. I have done a virus scan with superantispyware, malwarebytes, windows defender, spybot and Avast and found a couple of things that have been deleted. I have done a registry scan. I have tried reinstalling internet explorer to no avail. I have cleared out my browsing history. I have tried disabling add-ons. I am also fairly sure my ethernet cable is working cos my computer can do virus database updates, connect to steam and connect to the itunes store! This problem is just with my browsers. More specifically at the moment, internet explorer 8. Please help!

Have you checked your firewall settings for an exclusion?
Post the results of an ipconfig /all for review
