where can i get backbone infrastructure map of india...and submarine cabling. i want to knw how ISP's in india interconnect wid each other...plz share ur information..which one provide the largest network and related issues...

The ISP will have a POP (point of presence) (or edge of the internet) where all it's local connections meet, from your house to the POP is called the local loop. From the POP they enter the internet and meet up at the IXP(internet exchange point) i think.

ISPs themselves to not have any control of the Internet Backbone. All the ISP does is provide you, the customer, with access to the backbone. The backbone is usually provides by a particular company who is not an ISP.

If ISP want to communicate with each other they do so the same was as any other Internet user would.

It's a Network service provider that "owns" the backbone, like the national telephone company, BT in the UK, AT&T in the US etc....

ISPs just either lease the wiring from the NSP or some actually lay their own local loop. But tecnically an ISPs circuit is not part of the internet.
