Is this a homework question? Are you considering going from a workgroup to a domain?

Yes, I'm considering going from a workgroup to a domain.
BTW: I'm well past the homework stage . .

We get students wanting their home work done for them :-)

Have you google workgroup vs domain so you can get a side by side comparison?

First question to consider are how many workstations do you presently have and what is your existing infrastructure.

Second is what applications are you running.

Third is what will a domain offer you, that you need, that a workgroup can't do.

With this information it can be determined the best course of action.

BTW: I'm well past the homework stage . .

Really?

Considering the question, I'd suspect it IS homework. I say that because those of us who really are "well past the homework stage" know the answer offhand and if we didn't, would know to hit google and do some reading/research.

We certainly wouldn't come into a tech help forum and ask such a simple, basic question.

Indeed............me as much as anybody else......

I see upon rereading my response I was rather terse and gruff and I apologize for that. I'm not sure why I was grumpy and impatient this morning but I was. Maybe it's the -40 C/F weather that's making me cranky.
