ADSL 512Kbps appear as 100Mbps in system tray

Specs: Windows7, 1GB
Hello!
I have 512Kbps wire ADSL connection. Acctually its speed is 512Kbps but control pannel network and sharing center "status window" show 100Mbps why is that?
My ISP provider provide 512Kbps? Why status window show very higher speed. I use router (Prolink H5201) for connect to the internet.

My ISP advertise and say there download speed is 512Kbps and upload speed is 128Kbps.

It's showing that because whatever device you're connected to has a 100 Mbps LAN (local area network) port.

This has nothing to do with the bandwidth of your ADSL connection.

The LAN connection is "internal" (ie: local) and the internet is "external". To see what your external bandwidth is, google "bandwidth speedtest" and go to a couple of those sites and test. You'll get a good idea of what your external bandwidth is.

The 100Mbps is the speed between your computer and your router.
If you'd like to know the speed of your internet connection, depending on the router you're using, there might be an option in the routers setup, where you can see the connection speed from the router (WAN port) to your ISP.
Also some internet speed tests will show your internet connection speed, like speedtest.net or something like that.
