I've connected to wifi hot spots, mine and others.

Simple: pick one from the list and log in.

Not alot to work with M2. We don't even know the card brand or model. It would be up to the feature set of the wireless card software since W2K only supplies the basics.

The software calls itself:

The USB dongle is marked:

EDUP Wireless USB Adaprter 54M

Not much available for a made in China knockoff. If you don't see a adhoc check box anywhere in the software that came with it would appear it doesn't support adhoc. Though you maybe able to download similar hardware manufacturer software and get it to read your edup card.
