Solved Acer aspire v5 Wireless Network Icon Missing

Specs: Windows 8 pack 1, Intel core i5
The acer aspire V5 networking icon is missing and the laptop is refusing to connect to the house wi-fi

I have looked on device manager and found that the standard setting was to shut off the wi-fi, if the computer was in power-saving mode so i changed the settings on the device now it works, thanks

Try pressing FN + F3 keys to toggle WiFi on/off and try again.

Unfortunately this did not work it only turned flight mode on and off

So maybe it's another key combination, e.g. FN + F(1 to 12)

The other FN key combinations are for other functions of the computer which have no effect on the wi-fi

Ok, so check, whether the WiFi card is listed in the device manager, and that it has no problems like missing driver or something like that.
