I can not access the switch through web
browsing using explorer 6 the default setting of
the switch are IP 192.168.0.100, Submask
255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.254. Our
network settings are 192.168.2.x, Subnet-
mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1
what can I do so that I can browse and see the
switch on network?
"Our network settings are 192.168.2.x," "Default setting of the switch are IP 192.168.0.100"
Can you clarify this? This means that you network and switch are in different subnets and it may not be possible to access it without a high level router (ie Cisco)
Please post the model number of your switch,
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3P
Intel Core 2 Duo E6420
2x1Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800Mhz
Sapphire x1950Pro
500GB Cavier Blue
500W FSP Bluestorm PSU
Watson J your ip post can not be correct 192.168.2.x,
Subnet-mask 255.255.255.0,
gateway 192.168.1.1You can not have x.x.1.1 as gateway for x.x.2.x with that subnet. Gateways has to be x.x.2.x not x.x.1.x
Normally when you get a new managed switch you use the console [serial cable] and hyperterm to access and configure the switch. This is in the documentation that came with the switch.
