1gb network switch, cat 5, 100mb network card

Specs: Windows XP
1.Windows 2008 server with 1GB network card
1. 1gb D-Link network switch
2. cat 5 cables
3. workstations with 100mb network cards
4. Level one internet modem
Will this hardwares connected can be expected to fully utilize it's capacities?
What needs to be done to be sure that i have the correct hardwares to utilize the 1GB adapters?

Workstations with 1Gb Network cards for starters. 100 Mb cards will slow everything down to that speed.

What is a level one Modem?

2. cat 5 cables

You should be using minimum Cat 5e cable, not Cat 5.

Cat 6 would be even better in the long run.
