Remote access in Netware

February 13, 2011 at 06:45:09
Specs: Windows 7
How s remote access carried out in Netware?

What is RConsole? Is it built into the software or 3rd party?
How does it communicate with other computers?
Does it have a config file (such as .RDP for windows)?

cheers

gb

RConsole is build in netware and is used to remotely connect to the servers text console over IPX/SPX protocol. It's not encrypted.
At the server, RSPX.NLM and REMOTE.NLM must be loaded.
RSPX.NLM allows to define a password, to connect to the server console via rconsole.exe.

Rconsole.exe must be started at the PC, to connect to the server console.

It does not have a config file. It gets configured by command line parameters.
