So, I just bought a computer off craigslist about thirty minutes ago. It looked brand new and I trusted the guy (dont by the way)...he said he got it for his girlfriend then they broke up. It didn't even look like it had been outta the box. I hooked it all up and was hit with the Novell login client. The guy wont answer my calls and I can't use the computer at this point!!! Did I just waste 400 dollars or is there a solution?
THATS WHAT I SAID! I was like...why on earth would this thing have Novell on it unless it was for like a business or something....if this thing is stolen, and I put a new Microsoft XP or Vista on it, am I gonna have like the police swarming my house!!! Guhhhhh....craigslist scares me = (
If there is a Novell Client installed on Windows XP,
simply click the Workstation only checkbox and login to the local Windows.
Then you can uninstall the novell client, by control panel / software add/remove.Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
I am in the same situation and I tried to log in to windows and would not allow me to what should I do?
If the person that sold it to you provided you with the administrator account credentials, then just do as Paul said and login "workstation only". Doing so will be logging you onto XP just as if the Novell client wasn't there. If its still not letting you through then the credentials aren't correct and you will probably have to blow it away and reinstall Windows. Sounds pretty sketchy to me anyway.
