Map drive on different server and different tree

May 14, 2012 at 02:34:54
Specs: Windows 7,XP
We use this in login script "@ net use R: \\10.1.100.100\vol2\XXX /user:.XXX.users password" but it doesn't work properly so I would like to use Novell MAP commands. But this drive is on a different novell server and different tree and I tried using TREE command but I get error message...

TREE [TREE NAME]\.[USER];[PASSWORD]
MAP ROOT R:=\\[IP]\vol2\Skupni\SNP\MKGP in Tree TREE [TREE NAME]\.[USER];[PASSWORD]

The error code was c000003a.
LOGIN-LGNWNT32-400: A network drive cannot be mapped to a drive
that is designated as a local drive.

Need help!

Try this in login script:

TREE YOUR_SECOND_TREE_NAME/.%Login_Name.usercontext;[password if not equal on both trees]
MAP ROOT R:=.SERVER_VOL.vol_context:folder_to_map

e.g.:
TREE MY_SECOND_TREE/.jdoe.department.company.org
MAP ROOT R:=.TESTSERVER_DATA.company.org:department
