Solved How to add more space on a Novell 6.5 server (RAID 5)

Specs: Novell 6.5

I have a Novell 6.5 server with 5 Hard drives built in RAID 5.
We are having space issue and i want to add a bigger HDD to that array.
Can i just unplugged the one with low space and plug a new one?

If not do you have any idea how to do that.

Thanks for your help.

In RAID 5 the size of the array is limited by that of the smallest disk. Replacing one disk with a bigger one will make no difference (unless it is smaller than all the other disks).

None of your disks has "low space" - the data is spread equally over all 5 drives.

Hi , Thanks for your quick reply.

in fact as you may know novell is running under volumes.i have 4 volumes:

Admin (4 Mo)
Sys (8 Go)
Vol3 (136 Go)
Data (25 Go)

My data volume is going out of space and i wish to increase the size of that one.
