i have word for mac and want to send a word for mac document to a mac user who doesn't have word. how do i email it as an attachment?

You will have to copy & paste the text from your Word document into the "Text Edit" application that every Mac has. Save it, then send that as an attachment. It won't look as good as it does in Word, and all formatting will be lost, but at least all the text will be there.

Either that. or tell the other Mac user to buy Word for Mac so you don't have to mess about at your end.
