There does seem to be a slew of problems with Safari and el capitan... Run a google trawl using the string:

Some of the hits may be a little illuminating/helpful...

If you have an antivirus or malware program installed, uninstall it and see if it works. I read a lot of problems are caused by a antivirus, especially Avast.

Apple's OWN browser won't work on a Macbook!!!!!!! Uh huh! If THAT doesn't tell you that Mac and Apple and everything that goes with it is Madison Avenue and nothing more (such as a modern platform that still does not suffer from Mickey Mouse issues)---what will? IBM was a successful, grown-up, professional company turning out the worlds best business devices when Steve Jobs was pissing his pants. This problem is fixed by:........a PC!

I seem to recall Windows systems constantly have problems with MS browsers, assorted uodates and the like... Whilst there are occasional issues with Mac systems, generally they're far fewer than with windows; and many are rapidl fixed after a visit to Apple support sites - unlike those of windows and MS support. I run both platforms, have run windows from dos3x- wndows through to win-7, including NT 4 through to W2K...

My experince is far fewr prpblems with Mac OSX than with any versions of wndows; although fair to say that XP was fnally debugged and made to work ok, as was win-7 but they took an ageto get there... Win-10 is so buggy it's proven a disaster for many...
