My iMac (OS X 11.10.2) refuses to find yahoo. The page "Safari cannot find Yahoo" comes up. This happened for no reason as it was working fine yesterday.
It has nothing to do with your Mac. Probably a glitch on Yahoo's end. Clean out your History and cache, and see if that helps.
Yahoo and Mac do not exactly like each other; and Yahoo simply isn't really interested... Clear history/cookies etc. on your Mac and see if that helps.
Also perhaps run ccleaner for Mac; and that will do the clean out and also eradicate a few other wanted files. I have found this occasionally to resolve the connection problems with Yahoo.

Install it using custom/manual mode; NOT the proffered automatic... Carefully watch for and uncheck any pre-checked boxes; apart from the one for the actual utility itself. The rest you neither need nor want (much of which can be PIA to eradicate).
If you have an antivirus program installed on your mac try to disable it.
maybe you should clean out the cache and history of your safari.
