Why can't I open word on my MAc?

Specs: Macintosh
I am using an 2.66 ghz iMac running OSX 10.5.8. I just began to be unable to open MS Word, Excel or Powerpoint, all 2008. When I try I get an error message. For instance, when I try to open Word this is the message that I get:

Looks like a corrupted application, or bad RAM.

Try uninstalling the application, and reinstalling.

You are using the x86 version, right?

PowerMac 9600(1 ghz G4)
512mb RAM
50gb SCSI
ATi 9200 PCI

Did you check compatibility before install it? check that some program or softwares don't work on some plataforms.
