Why can't I delete a JPG file on my Mack

Why can't I delete a JPG file on my Mac? It came from my files, I think. Thanks for any help.

Have you tried right clicking on it and sending it to trash (which is an option near the top of the list which opens when you right click etc.)?

Just highlight it and drag it to the trash.

The message I get is that "it can't be deleted" I don't know what it is.. looks like black box

Highlight the file with mouse pointer over it, press right button on mouse...

Why can't I delete a JPG file on my Mac? It came from my files, I think.

Does the file look like one of yours?
