If you’re considering installing more RAM into a computer at any time, go to crucial.com and run it’s free scanner. It will advise what/which RAM to use. Their prices are pretty good too, and it’s.never wise to go for cheapest lesser known brands. As per Johnw that model Mac has a 16Gig RAM limit. If you install an SSD it will make a difference to boot up there me, and general performance. I have a Crucial 1Gig SSD in my 2013-14 Mac Mini, and 16Gig RAM also from Crucial.
