upgrade itunes 10 on G5 Mac OS X 10.3.9

Specs: Macintosh , 1.8 GHz/
We have had our mac for 6 years. We love it very much as we have not had any problems. However, the past year and half we have been getting by without upgrading Safari and iTunes. Now we are having issues using some of the features on Safari and cannot buy music on iTunes because the system is old. Is there any way to not spend money on a new system? or is highly likely we will need to fork over the cash and upgrade?

OS X 10.5 should be feasible on a G5, but you will need a Full Retail Version:

http://support.apple.com/kb/SP517

This should support iTunes version10
