Alright I recently recieved a PowerMac G4, 400Mhz AGP / 1GB RAM, it originally had mac os 9.1 or 9.2 on it (can't recall) the person who gave it to me showed me it working the system works fine, but he removed the HDD from it, I installed one I had that would work fine but I don't have a copy of Mac OS 9, I only have Mac OS X tiger, which I checked and it should technically run on this system, HOWEVER, the firmware needs to be updated to run it, and I don't have a working system to run the firmware updater off of, and I am relatively new to Macintosh/Apple computers, so is there any way I can do it short of me going out and finding/buying a OS 9 disc?
There is no workaround for this, you will need OS8 or OS9 instaled:
Personally i don't have Mac, but i think it's the best OS,I'm sure i met an aswear for your question somewhere, but i don't remember where exactly. you can look here how to Update Software Automatically
