Specs: OS X10, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/4GB 1067MHZ DDR
Can't shutdown. Message is 'shutdown timed out due to app not quitting.' Apps do seem to quit with normal command and I've tried all 'force quit options, but problem persists. When power button is used, mac goes to sleep. but problem remains when I wake it up. Any suggestions/help for getting this machine to shutdown will be appreciated. Thanks, Walt

Thanks for your reply - it worked. Actually, I'd stumbled on to holding the power button in longer after reading that it worked for Windows. Anyway, all is well and I thank you again for your interest. Walt
