Specs: Macintosh
I get a lot of Blog emails every day and they always have links to go to their various items they decorated with. EVERY TIME I click on any link it will go to instead of the actual items site. It only happens when I'm using Firefox. What can I do to make this quit happening while using Firefox???

Block the email(s) to start with.

Then run a few cleaner utilities:

JRT - junkware removal tool
JRT installs to the desktop from where run it. It opens into dos style window; follow the instructions therein. It will reboot the system as part of its process.

All are free; safe to use and frequently recommended here. Install each using the custom/manual option - NOT the proffered/default "automatic" option. Watch for and carefully uncheck all those pre checked boxes - other than the one for actual utility itself. That way you avoid installing all manner of unwanted stuff; much of it PIA to eradicate...

Retain any logs generated in-case of further need by one or two others here, who more across pest/annoyance removal than am I...

Is this happening on your Mac?

Here is a tutorial with instructions on dealing with adware and redirects. The tutorial for the Firefox browser is further down the page:

I get the same thing and I don't think people understand what the problem is. We click on links in the blogs we receive (we sign up for these blogs...we want them). And say for instance they want to show you a new chair they just bought - and they give you the link to go to the official site they bought the chair from. And you WANT to see this chair link - every link you click on in this blog email goes to a blank page and in the bar at top it says Every time!! And I have no extensions so it's not the above suggestions. And it's like the person who asked this original question. It's only when you're on Firefox. Any other suggestions besides the extensions?
