EDIT:
MS WINDOWS INFO, PLEASE IGNORE - SEE LATER.

You could have downloaded something without knowing it. s>Start by running these two freebies in the order given:

AdwCleaner:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Use the "Scan" button, followed by the "Cleaning" button.

Junkware Removal Tool (JRT)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
(blue Download button near top - not anything else on the page).
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run JRT. It might appear to have stopped at times or flash the screen but sit tight until it has finished.

Please copy paste the logs on here.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If you're running a Mac system which your post header seems to suggest, and the pest software likewise... try running ccleaner for Mac

http://filehippo.com/mac/download_c...

Install it using the custom/manual route - NOT the automatic... Carefully watch for and uncheck any pre-checked boxes - so helpfully checked for your convenience... Unchecking them all (apart from the actual utility itself) means you will not be installing a host of assorted "stuff" you neither need nor want.

There isn't a Mac equivalent of the windows adwcleaner utility - which is pity as it is very useful tool. There are alternative utils allegedly OK and to same end for it; but not having used them I can't comment on them...

Likewise there isn't a Mac version of JRT.

Oops. Sorry about my goof. Seems I'd strayed onto the Mac forum by mistake.

You could try MalwareBytes on it:

It's OK Derek; you're kwaite sayfe in there - they don't byte. But they do like their hot choccy, cream buns, biscuits (aka cookies in the Gnu World), and an occasional sherry... Are known to be very friendly.- even sympathetic- to Windows users.

I don't go there too often because of the rain. I haven't got a Mac.

I guess that means you don't open (any) windows either - in-case the rain should come in - having no Mac(intosh - for the benefit of those outside the UK...)
