Specs: Macintosh
I need remote access to my computer.

I don't want to spend a lot of money on cumbersome, expensive software. (my experience of apple remote desktop was not good).

I have an iMac11,1 Intel Core i7 2.8 GHz Mac OS X 10.6.4. I tried MobileMe Back to My Mac as the simples solution.

but I get the message:
"Back to My Mac isn't working properly because you may have more than one device on your network providing Network Address Translation (NAT). Try disabling NAT on one of the devices."

I don't have easy access to the router, as the internet is my neighbors (don't worry he knows I use it).

so my question:
how do I access my iMac remotely, securely, inexpensively?

I don't want to expose it to others. "Back to My Mac" isn't working.
And I'd like to be able to jump on to my computer without having to turn the screen on (so I can work remotely without other people in my home office seeing what I am working on). ideas? suggestions? thanks, ~jd

If his Router is blocking requests, you will have to setup Port Forwarding in the routers Configuration:
