Parallel to USB on a Mac.

January 28, 2010 at 19:14:29
Specs: Macintosh
I have a Xerox Phaser 1235 that I am attempting to
hook up to My Mac. I have a Parallel to USB cable
and I have installed the drivers from the Xerox web
site. The printer is showing up as an option, however
when I try to print I get an error message showing
"offline". Can anyone help, is this a feasible project or
do I need to "ditch" the printer.........

I had the same problem trying to connect a LaserJet 4 to my MacBook Pro with a USB-Parallel cable. After trying everything under the sun for two days of unsuccessful troubleshooting, I came across this suggestion:
I downloaded and installed USBTB and: bingo! Success. So happy not to have to junk the LaserJet, which prints like a dream and is built like a tank.
Good luck.
