Mini pci card works in one comp but not another..?

Specs: Hackintosh, P4 3.2 HT/2 gig
Hi, I have been playing around with Hackintosh on an Acer laptop. The only thing that won't work is the installed mini pci card. I purchased a replacement bmc4318 which when installed is recognised as an Airport card but it won't power up. I checked it in another laptop running Windows and it works perfectly.
The number of contacts on each card vary quite a bit, i.e. the bmc has contacts the full length of the card whereas the Iprocomm ipn2220 has only half the edge covered with contacts.
Reading on the web has some people saying cover certain contacts,i.e 7,13 or 20. None of these got it to power up.
Any thoughts?
( I also have a Mac, this is just a plaything ).

Certain pci cards will not work in Hackintosh as drivers are not part of the normal mac spectrum of hardware, you must get one that is mac compatible or it won't see it.

Hardshell, you might try reading my message. It states clearly that the bmc is recognised as an Airport card. I checked the HCL list before buying the bmc.
The card doesn't power up under Hack, Linux or Windows on the Acer. The prob is with the Acer.

Therefore it is not the correct card, so the card id the problem not the Acer.

Depending on what model this Acer Laptop is you will have alternative WiFi options, Express Card or PCMCIA Card or USB

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
