microsoft word for mac saving document troubl

Specs: Macintosh 10.6.7
I have been using MS Word for Mac for years. Bought the 2008 version of MS Office and have been using it daily as well.

Today I opened a word document from an attorney and suddenly I cannot save as anything. When I hit the button to save as, a directory pops up asking where, but it is so large that I cannot even see the save button.

How do I restore my MS Word settings?

It appears that the sheet which pops out of the Save dialog is too big for your screen resolution. Try grabbing the window, dragging it as high as you can, and see if you can grab the handle of the sheet, which will be in the very bottom, left corner of it. You can restore the original size of your save "dialog" this way, as it appears, at one time it was either changed or viewed on a screen bigger than yours.

If nothing else, press return, which will by default activate the default action, which Word defines as Save.

I hope this answers your question. Good luck with everything.
