I got a MacBook Pro early 2011 with a locked firmware and I need to install a OS on my macbook.. I tried making a bootable mac os x lion dvd but the computer want boot to it.. I did the same with a usb flash drive but I need to hit option on the macbook which asks me for a password. Is it possible someone can do a install of mac os x lion on there macbook and we switch hard drives and it will boot up? If so someone please copy there hard drive and give me the image, Maybe I can run it threw a restore in disk utilitys with my powermac g5. Anyways someone please help me out! I paid 800 bucks for this thing months ago and now i just figured out its got a password on there after I formated my drive.. Or if someone can show me how to put windows on here without bootcamp (since i have no os) oh here would work, I just need a os on here.

This macbook pro came with lion new.

Your best option is to contact Apple for help with it.

Correction - the only real option is to contact Apple. That assumes that you don't have the appropriate solder reflow apparatus to remove and replace a surface-mounted chip.

Take it to an Apple Store and see what they say. The first thing they will do is to check the serial number to see if it is stolen. If so they will retain the computer.

Alternatively, contact the person that you bought it from and ask them for the password (or your money back).
