MACBOOK PRO has dark screen bug.

Specs: Macintosh lion
My Macbook pro has that bug where the screen goes dark when coming out of sleep. I have set the computer to never sleep. I plug it in 90 percent of the time as that is most convenient for me. Will the life of my display still be affected?Is there a better way to solve this. i don't want to reset my computer because I may lose data.

Resetting the PMU on the Macbook won't loose you any data. The PMU is a seperate processor that moderates functions like power management for the macbook (charging and power distrubution). From recollection, the Santa Rosa Macbook Pro had a similar issue with dark bands on the screen-- just checked and this could resolve the issue: The quickest way to reset the display is to use the following key combination:

Press Control – Shift – Eject.
After the display goes to sleep, wake it by pressing any key on the keyboard.

That is if it's the LED backlit version you have
