I tried to type on my Mac computer keyboard this morning and instead of letters appearing, there was a clicking sound every time I typed a letter. Strangely, the numbers on the number pad worked as usual. Any suggestions?

I know that on Vista at least there are some odd functions that are activated by holding shift for 8 seconds, or by pushing shift 5 times in a row or so, and that these can be deactivated in the "ease of access" settings (for people with disabilities). It does things like making there be a pause between how long you hold down keys before they're registered by the computer (and a sound is usually played when the key is first pressed, though nothing else will register), or it might change the number of keys that register for each button press. I haven't had this come up on a Mac yet, but there may be some similar thing. I'd check around in your settings before shelling out for a new keyboard anyway. Good luck!
