Mac Air will not play DV-R or open

July 24, 2013 at 11:19:59
Specs: Macintosch HD, 4 GB 1600 MHz DD3
Macbook Air, Unreadable Maxell DV-R disc

I have a few different color DV-R discs in blue, green and yellow from Maxell dated 2008-09, that will not play or show me what is on the file. I created a few photo shows from Hallmark company SmileBox and copied them onto these DV-R discs.

I have the separate Apple computer Disc attachment because the Air Laptop does not have disc insert. I tried to play through my iPhotos, does not open only says, unreadable format, error one, not enough capacity.

I've tried Wondershare, Next Video convert express to convert to the right format, no luck and their support team could not help.

I would like to retrieve the photos off these discs if possible. When I look up on my hard drive to see what is on these discs I see files however nothing opens. I also tried retrieve photos however did not buy yet. I do not want to continue buying outside soft wear that does not help this issue.
HELP I have been working on this for the last 3 days non stop, UGH!

What can I do next?
Thank You

seems to me the problem is that you created a slideshow using Smilebox. The reason you can't see the pictures is because it's using the Smilebox software that was used to create the disks. The pictures are embedded in the software. If you want to view them, you'll have to install the Smilebox software on your Mac by visiting their website. Where did you store the original pics that you used. I guess, I'm assuming they are only on the disks now. I'm not familiar with Smilebox, but once you install the viewer (and I understand you can get a FREE one with ads) see if it will allow you to right click the pic and Save as, or Save to I photo perhaps. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.
