lol.

Try holding down the shift key when you turn the mac on and continue to hold it until you see "extensions disabled"

Without an actual question, it is very difficult to give you an answer.

What happens is this: - nothing happens as before when I hold the start key down. No life in the computer whatsoever. I have tried different powercables, and disconnected all external machinery - printer, scanner and jazz scssi memory device. Still no reaction. can anybody suggest a solution?

If you are getting no power to the unit, then you probably have a bad power supply, or motherboard. When you power on the unit, does the fan on top spin, or do you see the green light come on, on the front of the machine?

Then purchase a power supply for a Quadra 630, Performa 62xx, or 6300 - 6320 off of ebay.

Have you tried using the power button on the back of the machine?
