Specs: N/A
I get very angry with the search in the mac world
Every time i need to find something or a certain mail from someone, is impossible to retrieve

Cant find it
And i have to go to get it from the server to be able to find it

I will like to get an intelligent finder to be able to search any mail or document i need and in a very fast way

Any ideas?

This is something windows is much better.

To do what you are asking for, you need a built-in feature or app called Spotlight. However, this assumes that you are on a Mac made during or after 2004 and/or that has OS X 10.4 "Tiger" or later (e.g. 10.5 "Leopard" or 10.6 "Snow Leopard".) If you don't have OS X 10.4+, then you need to upgrade or otherwise, you are out of luck.

If you do want to search as described, press Cmd+Space. (For new Apple users, Cmd or the command key is the key with the four-leaf clover command loop on it.)

After that, start typing either a piece of the e-mail or file you remember, or the name of the e-mail or file itself, and it will show up in an indexed list on the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can either click it, or use the arrow keys, then press return (enter) to open it. You can also start apps (such as Firefox) and open other files like Word documents using Spotlight as well.

(Note that for the e-mail search engine to work, you *must* be dealing with the Mail app on your Apple. Otherwise, you'll just need to use your e-mail client's search.)

(And... no, Spotlight is *much* more innovative than the stolen Aero Search that exists on Windows. The statement "stolen" I can verify as a fact--it is not opinion. Spotlight was introduced in early 2004; MSN Search Deskbar (the precursor to Aero search) was introduced in late 2004-early 2005.)
