I installed a a new 500GB hard drive as a second hard drive on my Power Mac G5. I was told i did not need to install the OS X Tiger operating system as that OS is on the first hard drive . Then i installed Adobe software on the new drive. Is it too late to install the operating system now that there are both files and software programs on the hard drive? If it is okay to do the installation now, is there anything i need to know about the procedure? Thanks.

Check that disc. If I remember correctly there were two different versions of the Tiger disc. One was a full install disc. The other was an "upgrade" disc that required OS X 103 (a.k.a Panther) be installed first. If you have the upgrade disc that might be the problem.

Thanks and Regards

If you want to copy the old drive onto the new one, try this program. It works well for me.
