Note that it is a violation of Apple's license agreement to install Mac OS on non-Apple hardware. It is best avoided.

it indeed possible to install mac os x on a pc, but there will be pitfalls you need to fill.

1) your pc must have certain pieces of hardware that work with os x. its not all plug and play. check out http://wiki.osx86project.org , and make sure your computer will work fine.

2) performing the osx86 project is risky if you dont know what your doing. study this thing through, and you'll be fine.

3) there will be many patches and fixes that you need to install during or after installation of the os.

4) your processor is the key to darwin. if your processor is an intel SSE3 processor, you can actually use a legal retail copy of mac os x. if your processor is an AMD, or an intel sse2, you must download a patched version of the os.

5) software update wont work on patched kernels. if you use software update on patched kernels, the os wont work anymore, and you have to reinstall the os.

if you want to install os x on a pc, be warned that apple hates it that you install there pretty os on a pc (its a violation of the EULA in Mac OS X), and you might mess up your computer if you dont know what youre doing.

my advice, just get a mac, so you wont go through all that trouble.

P.S. ive done the osx86 project, and it came to a success. ;)
