I want to uninstall Mac OS9.I now have 10.4.4

January 29, 2011 at 10:32:06
Specs: Macintosh
I "lost" Microsoft Office. I don't know how but I did; a stupid mistake.
I don' even know how it happened.
Needing Word I installed MAC OS9 to get a similar application.

Now, I have three broblems: a) get rid of Mac OS9
b) recuperate Microsoft Office X
c) configurate my printer again: Canon Pixma S340

Thank you,

Monique H.

What version of MS Office do you have? Is it a boxed retail copy? What happened when you tried to install it in 10.4?

What hardware are you using? (iMac? iBook? G3, G4, etc..?)

To remove the classic OS you can probably just remove the partition using Disk Utility. If that doesn't work you could insert the OS X disk and reinstall OS X, beware this will remove all data from your hard drive. Backup first!

If the version of Office you have does not run in 10.4 you won't be able to move the application from classic to X.

You could buy a new version of Office, or iWork (which might be cheaper) or you could download OpenOffice, which is free, from www.openoffice.org.

To get your printer working again you'll have to download the printer drivers from Canon's website. I couldn't find the model you stated myself, either it is too old to be supported or you need to check the model number.
