I no longer have a reader to access them. Does any one have any suggestions? I was told you can pull the actual dvd out of the holder but not sure what to do then, my drive doesn't seem read them?
Your optical drive in your Mac may not support reading DL (dual-layer) optical media. If it is more recent, and does indeed support dual-layer media, simply start inserting the CD or DVD into the slot on the right side of your MacBook or iMac. If you have a MacBook Air, your drive does not support reading DL media, or your drive does not work, you will need to purchase an external CD/DVD drive that does, which can work with your FireWire or USB port, which can easily be found on eBay, Amazon.com, and other resellers. The Apple Store also sells external readers for MacBook models. If your drive is dead (does not read any media whatsoever) and your model is under AppleCare or warranty, you may need to get the drive replaced. I hope this answers your question satisfactorily.
