This is when Safari is opened, or when you actually try to download something (as in a disk image, application, etc.)? As soon as I can follow exactly what doesn't work out of these two, I'll be able to assist you. You should be able to type, for instance, http://www.computing.net and Safari *should*, once you press return, be able to open it for you.

Also, to open the about:blank page, you will need to type it as about:blank exactly, if you are interested. :) For future post titles, and it's *super* wonderful I know you're running OS X 10.6.7, consider writing "Safari only loads blank pages on 10.6.7" or something like that, as it will get more people to notice your problem and get to you quicker. :)

Thank you for posting! I'll be keeping track of any updates you can provide.

Thank you for replying, and also, thank you for posting the information. :) That certainly helps.

If Safari does indeed work, this is great. As for Firefox, go ahead and drag the Firefox app in the Applications folder (you'll find it in the sidebar in the Finder) to the Trash. In the working Safari browser, go to the Firefox home page and download a fresh copy of the browser. See if that helps.

Let me know if you have any questions after this, or need any more help. :)
