Specs: Macintosh
What is the difference between a IMAP and a POP email account? I have been having trouble sending emails. I get a message that they can't find the server. On the POP account I can receive the emails but I can't reply to them. I am using Outlook for MAC 2011 On the IMAP email account I cannot send nor receive emails.
The Verizon help "expert" could not help. And I couldn't understand him.

IMAP and POP are basically two different email protocols. Here's a very helpful site: http://email.cityu.edu.hk/faq/popim...

As far as I know, Verizon doesn't offer IMAP accounts. If you're indeed using a verizon email address, here are the settings for Outlook:

The server settings changed a few months back, so make sure your settings are correct. A Verizon Help Desk person would definitely know how to configure your email settings.

If you're not using Verizon email accounts, then you would have to configure the server settings based on the specific email provider.
