Specs: Macintosh
The original document was typed into Appleworks. Can I translate this to Word without just retyping the whole thing?

I used to use Appleworks on my old iBook...if memory serves you can "Save As" and then select "Microsoft Word" under the file type, then save the file -- it will then generate a Word .doc file.

If I remember correctly I believe this uses a really old Word format (95?) but you should still be able to open it in modern version of Word for Mac or Windows.

If you try the above solution by lupine25 and are unsuccessful, I believe your best bet is to save files as rich text format (RTF). I prefer this method because it is universally compatible with the majority of word processors.
