Solved How to start a Mac book pro when it only shows grey screen?

August 28, 2014 at 04:07:22
Specs: OS X Mavericks
Please help... I disconnected all cables and external equipment, I have resetted the PRAM and I tried to do a safe boot (shift-cmd-v) but the text stops advancing after some time. The same message is repeated over and over:

0 [level 3] [ReadUID 0] [Facility] [ErrType I0] [ErrNo 5] [I0Type Read] [PBlkNum 22094] [FSLogMsgID 1757349819] [FSLogMsgOrder First]

0 [level 3] [ReadUID 0] [Facility] [DevNode /dev/disk0s2] [MountPt /] [FSLogMsgID 1757349819] [FSLogMsgOrder Last]

I do not have the CD available now. Any ideas? Does anybody know some command I could type to resolve the situation?

That seems to be indicative of a hard disk failure. You are probably going to have to replace it and reinstall the operating system. If you don't have the facilities to do this then you may need to take it to a repair centre. Ideally you should take it to an Apple store - there have been a number of cases of hard disk failures that Apple have replaced for free as it was a manufacturing defect.

Ok, thank you. I'll go to an apple store for help.
